Inconvenient Truth
While analyzing the role of the douchebag is important, what is more important is the downfall of Chico’s Tacos as an El Paso legend. After being away from home, I stopped by Chico’s after months of craving tacos in the super secret sauce. Upon arrival to the Montwood location, I get my double order with fries and the sauce was absolutely disgusting – there was no flavor. It was a watered-down version of the awesome tomato-ey sauce (MMMM….). After I was given a second order since I complained about the watery “sauce,” I left highly disappointed because the second order was as bad as the first – sauce from the same batch.
So I’m disappointed; I’ve been drinking and there’s nothing that’s going to hit the spot like an order of Chico’s. I drive to the new location on Zaragosa and ordered a single this time. After taking the first bite, I spit it out immediately – it tasted like someone had dropped a full salt shaker in the sauce! I couldn’t even eat it! What’s worse is that my boyfriend, who isn’t as picky of an eater as I am (he’s like Mikey in the Life cereal (commercial), couldn’t stomach the so-called famous Chico’s either – the sauce was all wrong. Let’s face it: those of us who are Chico’s addicts know what the sauce is supposed to taste like…that night, however, neither location satisfied this out-of-towner’s craving…..
I’m still waiting for some good Chico’s.

That sucks. One would never expect that from such an El Paso staple. Maybe nobody else complained because they are used to eating it regularly and are immune to any difference in taste. Hopefully it won’t happen again.
