Better drink up. The Mayor gave his State of the City speech this week, mentioning his disappointment with the current recall attempt and how the storm water fees are necessary and reiterated that he is willing to discuss lowering them. Translation: don’t hold me accountable for screwing up.
Better get some more tequila as the violence in Juarez continued. Mexicans are dropping like flies.
Here’s to all you green people as El Paso was named the 9th lowest emitter of greenhouse gases among large metro areas, according to the Brookings Institution. Imagine how we’d do if 8-passenger vehicles were used by only the people who actually need them.
Drink up fans of public participation. The local trend of low voter turnout continues with whatever elections have been going on lately, or they EXPECT low turnout. Wait, there’s an election coming up?
Either detox or find a new supplier, all you crystal meth fans (including this fine site’s administrators). Some guy running a crystal meth lab got busted this week. To my surprise, he was running the lab out of the Coronado Motel. I guess this gives new meaning to “the West Side is the best side.” As the bust will likely hurt the local supply, look for students south of I-10 and east of Downtown to get priced out and forced to revert to pot.
Drink up, El Paso democrats, you have hit a new low. Since f—ing up the delegate allocation at the County convention wasn’t enough, one of your own had a seizure a the state convention. After a human barrier was formed, Elizabeth Hapsburg was quoted as saying, “It just shows El Paso takes care of its own.” Right, because democrats are so fierce and cannibalistic.
