Cacamole 4/23/09: Quintana, Reyes, News from the campaign trail; Who to vote for?
- Rumor has it that the race for District 3 may have a late entry. Sources from the Lozano campaign have whispered that Mr. Lozano’s mustache will attempt to file a late petition for candidacy. “The ’stache was just tired of Lozano’s antics.”
- El Pasoans watching Tuesday’s “Dancing with the Stars” results show were anxious to see a fellow El Pasoan compete for a gig as a professional dancer for next season. As the show went on, however, many El Pasoans were still waiting for an El Pasoan to come out. Herlinda de la Guerra told us, “I still have it on, and they still haven’t shown anyone from El Paso, except on the local news. Estela is so nice.” While the El Paso Times referred to the competitor in question as an El Pasoan, the same article states that Mayo Alanen currently resides in New Jeresy. On the show, he was announced as being from New Jeresy. Headline-only reading El Pasoans are pissed. The Times is expecting several complaints along the lines of, “Your headlines don’t tell the real story.” EPMG can be heard snickering in the background.
- Rep Rachel Quintana is excited about a possible city government transition to four-day work weeks, expecting to cash in on her frequent flyer miles.
- Silver Alert issued for mayoral hopeful David E. Henderson. Being scared shitless about the information that Mayor Cook might or might not know about intelligence agencies probably did not help.
- Silvestre Reyes honored for turning politics into a lifetime career.
