City Council requires what your mom would say: Get up for elderly or disabled - Tue, 18 Nov 2008
The ordinance makes it a city misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500 for an able-bodied person to refuse to move from a wheelchair space if it is needed by a someone in a wheelchair, or to give up a seat for a passenger who is disabled or over 65 years old.

La corporación propietaria de El Paso Disposal y del basurero Camino Real en Sunland Park organizó a un grupo de transportistas de desechos comerciales para combatir los intentos del Ayuntamiento por estudiar y posiblemente enviar basura a los vertederos de la ciudad. EL PASO - Socorro Independent School District trustees Monday unanimously appointed Tanya Loya, an 18-year-old student at the University of Texas at El Paso, to the school board. Loya, who graduated from Americas High School at the age of 16, is a junior political science student at the university. She will replace former trustee Joe Sarabia, who resigned from the position in October.
